Kill someone, minor fine

I've heard of low fines for drivers killing people, but was not aware of cases in Canada. Well, here we go. $2000 fine and a 3 month driving ban for killing a pedestrian in a crosswalk. Obviously, motorcyclists can be subject to the same vagaries.
