Metformin Side Effects

Hi. I was recently diagnosed with PCOS. My endo put me on 25mcg levothyroxin and 500g metformin , as well as LoEstrin FE. I have been on the LoEstrin for about 2 months now without many issues. I started taking the Levothyroxine about 2 weeks ago but waited until the later to start the metformin b/c all the side effects worried me and it was my bday week, so didn't want to feel horrible and also knew I would have a drink or two. Anyways, I have taken Metform 4 times and each time my heart starts to race, my chest tightens (I have asthma so can't say 100% it is the metformin as pollen has been bad here but seems coincidental), hot flashes, trouble sleeping, nausea and anxiety. I know GI upset is a common side effect and I have been careful with the exception of one time to take with a full meal. The other symptoms I can not find under the side effects. Does anybody else have these issues? Will they go away? Honestly I don't think I can handle them as they are severely interfering with quality of life and my job. I plan on calling my doctor tomorrow to see what she has to say but was curious what others' have experienced.
