This is my first post and this seems like a good place to ask all my questions on motorcycles.
I'm 16 and I'm really looking into getting my M1 and then M2 license. Bikes are more fun and cheaper on gas but I'm worried about insurance and by the looks of it, it seems as though insurance is a key factor in bikes. Could anyone tell me what I should expect for someone like me? i.e 16 years old, M1 license and will be riding either a CBR125R or one of the 250's? If it will bring down insurance I would be fine with going to driving school for the M-class license but if the insurance is still going to cost a fortune I'm thinking its best to just wait.

P.s I don't know if it matter but I've had previous experience on dirt bikes, ATV's, pocket bikes (when I was kid) and just plenty of two wheeled machines in general but no super sports or anything like that unfortunately.
P.P.S I've been looking at a 1999 Honda CBR600F4 and wondering if the year/CC/cost of purchase plays any role in insurance cost or is it like car insurance where all they really care about is engine size and number of doors? If it matters the 600F4 is just under $2k.
