Wild Lioness has PCOS and grows mane!!

I found this extremely interesting and had to share it. This article is actually about a different Lion from the one i saw on a Zoo series episode on animal planet last week but i can't find the episode anywhere. The lion i saw on TV was in a zoo and she was growing a mane so her keepers done an ultrasound scan on her ovaries and she had large cysts on her ovaries and she looked like a young male lion with the making of a beautiful mane. Anyway this article i found is about a lioness in the wild who clearly has a mane, interesting that it's been found in wild animals and the fact a lion and lioness have that distinct difference between the sexes (unlike other big cats) which made it easy for us to take notice of her.
