I was watching a Dr. Oz show and it was interesting to learn that our cravings mean that our bodies are trying to tell us something, but we often turn to unhealthy foods instead. His recommendations for each craving were:
Sugar (Craving Energy): Fruit+Fat+Protien. E.g. Pear with Ricotta cheese and nuts
Chocolate (Craving Magnesium): Dark Chocolate (65%+)+Nuts. E.g. Dark chocolate with almond butter
Carbs (Low Seratonin): Omega3s+Slow Carbs. E.g. Toasted Edamame or a Corn Tortilka with Guacamole and Hemp seeds
Salty Foods (Dehydration): Portion control along with healthy moisture rich foods. E.g. Some fries along with Celery with cheese+Salsa+ hot sauce
