Just a quick public service announcement: I asked a nurse at my fertility clinic about getting a flu shot this year and she told me to go ahead and do it at any point during my cycle - the earlier in cold/flu season, the better. So today I went to get the shot a local pharmacy that offers them and the person who administered it asked if I was pregnant or might be within 3 months. When I told her yes, she went and got me a preservative (mercury?) free version. She said she herself had been pregnant last year and hadn't known not to take the standard version and then spent a lot of time worrying about it after the fact.
So perhaps you all know this (or perhaps it's not super important since my clinic didn't say anything about it), but if you're getting a flu shot while TTC, ask about the preservative-free type!
