Has anyone heard of using Ovidrel (only) 7dpo? Concerns about progesterone / LP

Quick background: This past cycle (Letrozole/IUI), I had a chemical. I'm pretty upset because I have PCOS and have been raising low progesterone concerns at every step of the way, even going as far as requesting (and paying fully out of pocket for) a 6dpo blood draw to check my levels. They called and said my progesterone was at an 8 but that they were happy with that number for where I was in my cycle; I questioned it several times but didn't end up being put on supplementation. I know there's no proof that that's what caused my CP, but I really think it played a huge role...I'm mad at myself for not forcing the issue. I know it sounds negative, but I really feel like this was our chance and I'm super upset

My question: I voiced my concerns, and the RE (per the nurse) agreed this was problematic but "now we can have a plan for next time". So her plan for next cycle to raise progesterone / lengthen LP is to give me half a dose of Ovidrel 7dpo. I'm confused as to why she wouldn't just put me on post-O progesterone supplementation - my impression is that's what most doctors do. I asked the nurse about this, and she is going to talk to the doctor and call me back tomorrow. She said maybe it was because when I'm on progesterone, I won't start bleeding on my own (assuming no pregnancy)? But seems like that could be easily remedied by a pregnancy test, to me... Has anyone ever heard of this use of Ovidrel?? (to be clear, I wouldn't be taking Ovidrel at any other point in the cycle - just half a dose 7dpo) Bonus question: if I do push for progesterone supplements (which is what I'm leaning towards)...what kind should I ask for? Thank you in advance for your wisdom and guidance
