Late season M1/M2 conundrum?

Hey everybody, New guy here located on the east side of the GTA.

I haven't ridden in over 20 years. Used to have a Seca 900 for those here that remember that generation.

Unfortunately in retrospect, I foolishly never pursued my full M class license back then, opting instead to ride for many years under my M2, and then I sold the bike and let everything lapse.

My Wife and I are looking at getting back into riding and I'm working on the purchase of a VTX1300 right now. Yes, I'm totally aware of the impending insurance costs and we are OK with that, it's definitely a luxury, but one we can afford... And I'd rather take the hit on insurance in the first year driving a bike that we like and want versus pennypinching and driving a tiny undersized underpowered bike for our needs.

That said I would like to pursue the M2 training course (for the insurance discount) immediately after reinstating my M1 this week as well as being able to skip the ministry exit road test as a result...but I'm finding all the local options for training have wrapped up things for the season. Not unexpectedly so, but I trust everyone sees my issue.

As well, seeing as how the M1 one only lasts for a short period of time before expiring, will the Ministry still do M1 exit road tests in what will potentially be winter by the time I'm good to take it? This assumes I can't find the safety training anywhere and and up having to just pursue the M1 exit the normal way.

Input / Thoughts appreciated.
