Hi everyone,
For almost the last week, I have had moderate to occasionally severe abdominal pain. It's not in my lower abdomen, but in the upper portion. The pain is making me feel sick, and if I gently press on the area, I feel sick as well. I don't want to eat with this pain, but in an effort to try everything to make it better, I have tried eating as well and it doesn't help.
I called the birth center triage nurses this weekend, who said it doesn't seem to be related to the pregnancy and it's likely just bad indigestion or heartburn. However, this doesn't feel like either of those at all. Also, I have tried all approved medicines for both of those issues, as well as safe natural alternatives. I got a fiber supplement as well, as I thought constipation may be playing a role, and even after that worked, it didn't help.
I don't know what to do anymore! I expected to be uncomfortable during pregnancy, but this is crazy. It's been constant and bad enough that it makes me cry. The doctor didn't think that I needed to be seen by them, as it wasn't directly pregnancy related. I'm nervous to go to a general practitioner with a high-risk pregnancy, plus I don't have an established primary care doctor.
Should I insist the MFM doctor see me?
Should I go to the ER?
Should I just wait it out?
Is this awful, unrelenting pain normal?
Have any of you experienced this?
