Hello, I have been on 1500 mg Metformin XR for 8 yrs. This week I experienced neuropathy which is a tingling and numbness in the finger tips. I thought I slept in the wrong position at first but it was still there after many hours. I thought it was bcuz I was dehydrated and I drank a lot if water and it started to go away after a day. Since then I have done a lot of googling and found that Met causes B12 deficiency and that the tingling and also dizziness that I was experiencing are side effects of that. The tingling can be permanent damage to the nerves. Now I am afraid to be on Met and am looking into D Chiro Inositol. Has anyone ever gone off Met and taken DCI in its place? Many Thanks!
