Those of you on Metformin, is your kidney and liver function constantly monitored by your doctor? And if it is monitored, at what frequency is it monitored?
And do you have to take a Vit B12 supplement?
I was considering asking to be put on Metformin ER to help with breastfeeding (hopefully) and to regulate my cycles after I wean, but the potential for kidney and liver problems as well as it depleting Vit b12 kind of scares me.
I did read the FAQ on metformin and the links about it, but I want to hear some first hand experience.
