I've recently been diagnosed with pcos and am definately insulin resistant. I hadn't had a period all this year so my doctor gave me norethisterone to bring on a period. Which after a full year without one I was surprised it was really light, nearly spotting amount, but a bit heavier. I was also given metformin, which I've been taking for 8 days now, 500mg. Midweek I started having persistent ovary dull ache and also sharp every so often. Is this normal when starting met? I haven't had any other side effects. Just wondering if this is something I should mention to my doc. Also, any tips on what else I can do to make metformin have the most effect? My partner and I are thinking of ttc but with no period its a bit of a none starter! I've heard metformin can help restart your period.
